Airtel Ghana has lowered its call rates by 50% to enable its customers talk with freedom this festive season.
Customers can now call mobile and fixed lines to the USA, Canada, India, China, UK and Germany for only 10 pesewas a minute between 26 November and 15 January. This is a drastic reduction from the already affordable rate of 19 pesewas a minute.
According to Airtel Ghana Marketing Director Oare Ojeikere, “We believe that mobile communication is now a right of every Ghanaian and this call rate reduction is just the beginning.
“Christmas is a time when people show they care by sharing and giving gifts. We at Airtel want to show our customers that we also care, by giving them this gift. We want to give them the freedom to make that call without counting the minutes – especially to their loved ones overseas,” he added.
At its launched in Ghana, Airtel pledged to make mobile telephony accessible to all Ghanaians and the company has reacted to the people’s response to the question: ‘What does freedom mean to you?’ by removing the cost barriers of calling friends and family overseas.
