Ghanaian alcoholic beverage producer, Bebeto Industries Limited, is about to launch its range of products into the global market barely seven years into operations. The fast growing alcoholic beverage producer, which is based in the Ashanti region, is looking forward to particularly exporting the Atinka Coffee Gin Liquor to a wider international market by end of the first quarter of 2011.General Manager, Emmanuel Bortey Borketey, told Luv FM the company has been receiving orders from Nigeria, Italy and other European countries. He says the company’s ultra modern processing plant has the capacity to produce to meet the demands, stating that “we have a working force of about 120; we have distribution [outlets] across the nation and by [end of] quarter this year, Bebeto products would circulate worldwide. We have machines that within the shortest possible time produce more cartons of drinks, so we’ll be able to meet the demands”.Mr. Bortey Borketey however observed the growth of local manufacturing companies is impeded by rising utility cost, especially electricity.“We are using about 16 to 18 different kinds of raw materials. So the moment prices increase, it affects every raw material used in production…this morning our supplier said ‘prices have increased so we have no alternative than to increase our raw material’ and we also have no alternative than to buy [the materials] to work with”, he observed.Mr. Bortey Borketey enjoined government to support small business growth for employment creation and poverty alleviation.Story by Kofi Adu Domfeh/luv FM/Ghana
