Airtel is rolling out a customer loyalty rewards promotion to put money back into the pockets of its customers.
The third in the series since its debut in 2009, this year’s edition, dubbed ‘Freedom to Dream’ (FTD) has been introduced early in the year to help bring financial freedom to Airtel customers and Ghanaians in general. The promotion which runs from now until end of March will not only cushion customers but also provide them with the freedom to achieve their New Year resolutions.
The FTD is an outgrowth of Live Your Dream (LYD) which the company said transformed the lives of many Ghanaians in previous years.
A statement issued by Airtel says the promotion is consistent with its commitment to give Ghanaians the freedom to do more.
Commenting on this, Marketing Director of Airtel Ghana Oare Ojeikere, said “At Airtel, we focus on the needs of our customers as we do business. We are introducing this promotion earlier than we did in the previous years because we have realized that most people face financial difficulties in the first few months after Christmas. This is particularly so because apart from the celebration, the New Year also comes with its various forms of commitments such as paying school fees. We are proactively responding to the needs of our customers and we are actually looking forward to transforming more lives this year”.
Mr. Tara Squire, Marketing Manager, Usage and Retention, added , “The mechanics have been simplified and the entry requirement modified to make entry easier. The ultimate cash prize winners will retain the right to determine how much they walk away with.
He noted that effective 1st February, 13 lucky customers will be drawn weekly till the end of March. While the first 5 walk away with GHS 500 instantly, the remaining 8 will enter the ‘Moneyshow’ where they choose one of the 64 numbers on the board. This will be replicated every Tuesday within the promotion period until all 64 potential lucky winners take their turn to pick their share of the GHS 400, 000 in the prize pot.
The beauty of this promotion, according to Mr Squire, is the fact that all numbers on the board have cash behind them, making it possible for all lucky winners to win handsome cash prizes.
Other items up for grabs include handsets which come with a year’s call credit. 3000 numbers will also be selected randomly from the promotion database every week to win free airtime.
For existing customers, one needs to either top up with a minimum of GHC2 or use GHp 5 within 24 hours. New customers join the promotion upon the activation of a new SIM card which comes with one entry and subsequently accumulate entries as they top up and use. Customers can check their number of entries gained by sending FTD to 420 or STOP to 420 to stop receiving entries.
