The Church of Pentecost on Saturday undertook a three-hour clean-up exercise of the Tamale West Hospital to tidy its environment and rid the hospital of mosquitoes.
The Church members swept the drains, desilted the gutters and cleaned the louvers and the wards.
The Church was assisted by the Zoom Lion sanitation workers to undertake the clean-up exercise.
The exercise forms part of week-long activities of the Pentecost Social Services (Pensus).
Earlier in the week, the Church donated assorted detergents and second hand clothing valued at five million cedis to the Nyhoni Children's Home and also collaborated with the Bank of Ghana to educate its members and the general public on the re-denomination of the cedi.
Apostle Godwin Osei-Bonsu, Area Head of the Church in Tamale said the exercise was part of the churches social responsibility and promised that it would be a regular activity to help improve on the sanitation situation in the metropolis.
Mr. Mohammed Hashim, the Hospital Administrator commended the church for embarking on the clean up exercise and described it as been timely since the hospital was expecting to receive some visitors and called on other organisations to emulate the example.
He hoped the church would continue to partner with the hospital in other areas so that together they could provide better health service delivery to the people.
