A nine-year-old Primary three pupil of Yokpem D/A Primary, Kwabena Asare, narrowly escaped death but had a fracture in the leg when his school building collapsed on him after a rainstorm.
The rest of his colleagues in the classroom escaped unhurt.
The Head teacher of the school,Nartey Ransford Teye said that classes were in progress when the incident occurred.
He said the victim was rushed to the Begoro District Hospital for treatment and was admitted for one week.
Mr Teye said the parents of the boy later took him from the hospital to the house for further herbal treatment, adding that, they did so because they felt his recovery rate was slow.
He said he had reported the incident to the Fanteakwa District Directorate of Education.
