Workers of the Savannah Cement Company in Buipe in the Northern region have embarked on a strike.The workers say management of the company has failed to heed their requests for a pay rise for three years.It’s the second time the workers are embarking on an industrial action to a demand a salary increase.Chairman of the workers’ union, Issahaku Zakariah told Joy News the workers are still in discussion with management.He said the General Manager is yet to confer with the top management in Accra and a decision will be taken in due time.The Administrative Manager of the Savannah Cement Company, Alhaji Haruna Yakubu said the management will be meeting to decide on the workers’ demands.Source; Joy News/Myjoyoyonline.com/Ghana
