Government is being urged to be bold enough to review contracts that do not serve the interest of the country.
Governments from developing countries often shy away from reviewing contracts for fear they may potentially ruin their image internationally or attract sanctions.
But a Consultant from Trinidad and Tobago who drafted Ghana’s local content bill, Tony Paul believes it does not have to be so.
He says more often than not governments enter into contracts which later turn out not to be in their interest usually because the prevailing circumstances change.
Mr. Paul tells Joy Business in such cases governments should be able to take another look at the agreement.
