The military high command has expressed concern about what it said is an upsurge in the enticement of soldiers to offer services to private individuals and agencies for fees. The Command said the officers are engaged to provide protection for self installed chiefs involved in disputes and as land guards amongst other services.A statement received by Joy News from the Directorate of Public Affairs of the Ghana Armed Forces expressed regret that anytime the soldiers get into trouble the civilians who engaged them turn around and blame them, which jeopardizes their careers. It said such acts give the military a bad image. The statement warned that it is an offence for an individual, groups or agencies to ask soldiers to provide them services without first seeking approval from the military command.
