TECNO Telecoms launched its flagship devices the Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 Plus, on the 25th of September 2016, in one of the most beautiful venues in the world, the prestigious Armani Hotel located in BurjKhalifa, Dubai.
The launch was a huge success and saw the smartphone brand breaking into the international scene.
The undisputed smartphone leader in Africa also brought it down to Ghana with its recent Channel launch at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, where it introduced the Phantom 6 and 6 plus to its Ghanaian audience.
The event was witnessed by many prominent dignitaries including TECNO partners like the main speaker, Kwaku Sekyi Addo, CEO, Ghana Chamber of Communications, Abdul-Latif Issahaku, MTN Ghana, Papa SikaAndoh, Head of Vendor Management, Jumia Ghana, and various media houses, including key agents and dealers from all 10 regions of Ghana.
General Manager, Business at TECNO Mobile, Daniel Glover said, “What we are launching today in Ghana are part of the TECNO Phantom series – the Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 Plus; and they are not an exception to the excellence of the TECNO brand.
The new devices boast of a number of high-end upgrades when compared to its predecessors, the Phantom Z and Phantom 5 that were launched in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
Since inception, TECNO Mobile has won many awards in the Ghanaian mobile phone industry. These includes the Mobile Phone distributor of the year in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
In the year 2015, it also won the Smart Phone of the Year award, the Most Promising Brand Award and the Most Popular Brand Awards.
And just this year, 2016, the brand was awarded the Mobile Phone Distributor of the Year Award. The remarkable thing here is that it started winning these awards just 2 years after entering the smartphone segment.
These are laudable achievements, owing to the fact that when TECNO entered the mobile phone market in Africa, the mobile phone penetration rate in Africa was 6 percent.
Today it has risen to 80 percent and TECNO Mobile being a major driver of this development, is already servicing over 35 African countries while currently retaining the largest market share of 25.3 percent across six major African markets – Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Cameroon and Ethiopia.
Today, TECNO has extended its web to more than 48 countries around the world, across the Middle East, South East Asia and South America – this has made TECNO one of the mobile brands to reckon with, not just in Africa but globally, while serving about 2.5 billion consumers which are 35% of the world’s population.
TECNO Mobile customizes its devices based on different consumers' preferences and the Phantom Series, which embodies the best of technological advances yearly, is expected to impress smartphone consumers across different emerging markets.
The customized Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 Plus are surely the love for the international consumers as well as for the Ghanaian smartphone lovers.
