The Ghana Football Association has described the early elimination from the CHAN as regrettable and has demanded an explanation for the team’s poor outing.
President Kwesi Nyantakyi is shocked at the local Black Stars inability to advance from Group B involving Niger, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Home fans have severely criticized head coach Herbert Addo for his poor tactics at the tournament.
Nyantakyi has tasked the technical and management teams to explain what accounted for the shambolic performance.
“We are still waiting to read the report by the coaches and the management team until then I can’t state what was responsible. Anyway, what happened was disappointing,” Nyantakyi told Accra-based Joy FM
“This time we expected to progress to [the] final and probably win but that was not the case. It’s a very regrettable outcome and we will like to know what exactly accounted for that performance.”
Ghana won silver at the maiden edition of the African Nations Championship in Ivory Coast two seasons ago.
