Subscribers on the Vodafone network should, by May this year, experience a sharp improvement in the internet services on their phones and other mobile devices when the company launches its third generation platform. The 3G which is more advanced than the current 2G will ensure high speed internet with much faster download speeds for video and data.Officials tell Joy Business 3G is currently being tested on a pilot phase. The technology is already available to Airtel and MTN subscribers, and some say Vodafone is late. But Chief Executive, Kyle Whitehill disagrees. He said despite the fact that the other networks were already on 3G, Vodafone held the Number One market share for mobile data, “so people are actually using our mobile data products.”“We think that we can actually do a much better job when we launch 3G – faster speed – we think we will be the fastest in the market place” he added.Source: Joy Business/Ghana
