Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan says his strike partner at Sunderland Danny Welbeck needs more time before making a decision about where his international future lies.
The 20-year old is eligible to play for Ghana, the land of his parents but can also represent England where he was born.
The GFA has stepped up efforts to sign him on for Ghana and while Gyan believes there is a chance he will play for the Black Stars he admits nothing is certain now.
Gyan and John Mensah who also play for Sunderland have done their best to convince the player his international prospects will be well served by the Ghana but the response, Gyan says has always been the same; give me more time.
"He has not made up his mind yet and says he needs more time to think through it. Myself and Mensah have spoken to him about playing for Ghana," Gyan told KickOffGhana.com.
"He is a very good player, young and talented so he will be helpful to Ghana but we need to give him more time."
