The Founder of Kumasi King Faisal football club, Alhaji Karim Grunsah says Ghanaians should forget about Michael Essien returning to the Black Stars.
According to him, there are equally good players who are even better than Essien so if he is not ready to return to the senior national team, then we should forget about him and concentrate on our football.
Essien requested for a temporary break from international football to concentrate on gaining a permanent position in his club football last year but did not state his exact return date.
It was reported in the media recently of his purported return in March only for him to debunk that assertion, saying he will definitely return in the future but not in March as has been reported.
Alhaji Grusah believes Ghana made him who he is now and Ghanaians should not waste their time waiting for him since there are players who can do the job even better than him.
He told Asempa Sports, he doesn’t want a player like Michael Essien to be in the national team since he has no respect for Ghanaians who have supported him to be where he is now.
He stressed that, Essien is not an extraordinary player who we should give prominence to since his absence in South Africa did not affect the Black Stars who were able to make it to the quarter finals of the tournament.
