The Central Regional Minister Ama Benyiwa Doe is relieved after “personal issues” between herself and the party’s Regional Propaganda Secretary Allotey Jacobs were finally resolved. The two have in recent times been engaged in heated public exchanges with the Minister accusing the Propaganda Secretary of scheming to have her removed. She had earlier on alleged that Allotey Jacobs is angry after she failed to give him a contract and was planting negative stories about her in the newspapers so she will fall out of favour with the president. However, the differences between the two party executives were resolved after a meeting with the party’s regional executives on Tuesday. The Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Adu Yeboah told Joy News the two have resolved their differences. “After a long session yesterday, we were able to resolve the differences,” he said, adding “as I speak with you now they are at peace.” He would not however state the bone of contention which warranted a resolution. Corroborating the sentiments of the Chairman to Joy News’ Araba Koomson, the Regional Minister said she was satisfied with the outcome of the meeting. Ama Benyiwa Doe said they have resolved to settle their individual differences in the paramount interest of the party. She would not also state the reason for the disagreement, except to say the personal issues between the two of them have been resolved. “I am fully satisfied with whatever went on, we have all pledged our support to unite and move the party in Central Region forward,” she noted. On the seeming discontent by some of the youth in the Region over lack of developmental projects the Minister retorted it is because those people lack complete knowledge on what I am supposed to do as a regional minister.
