Chairman of the Premier League Board, Yaw Abra Appiah has called on Ashanti Gold and Aduana Stars to qualify to the next stage of the CAF Interclub competitions. The two clubs are Ghana’s only representatives competing in this year’s CAF interclub competition. Aduana stars who won the glo league last season are playing in the CAF African Champions League whilesAshanti Gold got the ticket to compete in the CAF Confederations Cup after taking the second spot in the Glo league last season.Aduana Stars can only qualify if they are able to score four unanswered goals to overturn their first leg 3-0 deficit to WAC of Morocco on Sunday whiles Ashgold stands a great chance of scaling through to the next stage of the Confederations Cup with a 1-0 advantage over Sewe Club of Ivory Coast who visit Ashgold this weekend for the second leg tie at the Obuasi Len clay stadium.Mr. Abra Appiah believes Aduana Stars have a tough tussle ahead of them but is optimistic they can score as many as 4 goals to progress to the 1/16 stage of the competition. He cautioned Ashgold not to be complacent with their 1-0 away win over Sewe Fc but should go all out and ensure qualification to progress in the competition.Story by Benedict Owusu Asempa/ Sports
