The Wa Secondary Technical School has been closed down indefinitely. It follows the burning of a vehicle belonging to the headmistress of the school. The students were expected back in school today after it was closed for two weeks following riots calling for the dismissal of the headmistress. The Wa Director of Education, Fabin Baleb however tells Joy News the school will now remain closed until further notice. He said given the latest incident, it was obvious the conditions were not ripe for the reopening of the school. Mr Baleb said the incident was being investigated and that after investigations if “we [are] sure that there is peace and security and that the environment created will now be conducive for teaching and learning, we will ask that the school be reopened”.
