Tullow Oil Ghana says it expects to get very busy with its oil exploration activities in the next few years.
Officials tell Joy Business 2011 will get particularly busy as Tullow will be conducting further tests on at least two key discoveries made in the recent past, Tweneboa and Enyenra, which was formerly Owo (owor).
License and Business Services Manager Kevin Quinn explains to Joy Business the company is hoping to prepare a plan of development for submission to government for approval early next year.
He said preliminary tests had indicated that Enyenra “is going to be a major light oil discovery.”
According to him, “we have to complete the appraisal programme for both of those discoveries and then we will aim to put together a declaration of commerciality and a field development plan hopefully sometime by the first quarter of 2012…and then proceed with the development of that.”
Mr. Quinn also talks about developments in the West Cape Three Points area and other areas of interest to Tullow and its partners and said there was an aggressive exploration programme in place.
“Earlier this year, we announced the Teak One discovery which again is an exciting discovery and we are currently drilling the Teak Two Well which is between Teak One and Jubilee Field,” he stated.
He is optimistic the results from the Teak Two will be positive.
