A former Managing Director of the Produce Buying Company (PBC), Mr Anthony Osei Boakye, has filed his nomination to contest the Atwima-Nwabiagya parliamentary seat on the ticket of New Patriotic Party (NPP).
His goal is to unite the party and work hard to significantly increase the party's share of votes in Election 2012.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), after filing his nomination, he said he was a team player and when given the nod by the delegates, he would ensure that all structures of the party were functional, as the NPP prepared to battle for political power in next year's general elections.
He is campaigning on education and the promotion of agriculture and invited the other contestants to make sure that there was a clean contest devoid of unnecessary tension and acrimony.
He said they must do everything to preserve the unity, integrity and cohesion of the party.
Mr Osei Boakye also encouraged all members to make the needed sacrifices to bring the party back to power.
