More than six hundred members of the opposition New Patriotic Party have picked nomination forms to commence the process of contesting the party’s April 30 parliamentary primaries. The party’s regional executive committees have already begun the process of assessment and certification after which vetting of the selected candidates will begin on the March 26. Nana Akomea, the NPP’s Director of Communications told Joy News the aspirants have about a month to campaign. On the average, each constituency has about 400 delegates who will determine who gets to become parliamentary candidate for the NPP in the 2012 general elections.
