The dismissed former Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) for Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA), Mr. Kobina Pra Annan, has threatened to expose secrets of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for using him as a scapegoat.
"Having been used as a scapegoat, I now fear nothing in terms of going public with party secrets and names of those behind my dismissal," he said in an interview with Kyzz FM, in Takoradi yesterday.
According to the ex Mayor, President Mills had embarrassed him by announcing his dismissal on air, instead of doing so first with a formal letter to him. "In fact, the President did not respect me. He should have written or informed me by other means about my dismissal. I was in office when people started calling me to find out about my dismissal. This is an embarrassment," he said.
Prah argued that President Mills gave him a formal appointment letter when he appointed him to head the Sekondi Assembly, therefore, he was expecting him to have followed the same, procedure, but this time round, he decided to terminate his appointment through a radio announcement.
The former MCE further told his host, Kwame Malcolm, that he was very upset with his dismissal and had, therefore, given the party and government a week's ultimatum to clarify the decision behind his dismissal.
He argued that President Mills was not aware of his dismissal because he had done nothing wrong against him. I have gathered, enough arsenals to spill the beans to the public, and I am waiting for their response,” be boasted.
Some embittered youth, at Agona Nkwanta also went on a demonstration to protest against the decision by President Mills to sack the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Abanta West Mr. Joseph Jones Amoah.
The former DCE has for some time now been having frosty relations with his constituency party executives.
At a point, he reportedly went to three paramount chiefs in the area - Otumfuo Badoe Bonsoe XV, Ahantahene and Member of the Council of Slate, Nana Kwesi Agyemang, Paramount Chief of Upper Dixcove and Nana Kyia. Paramount Chief of lower Dixcove - to seek their intervention to resolve the impasse.
This was after the party had sent a petition about his conduct to the President.
The paramount chiefs however, failed to resolve the issue due to the uncompromising stance of the party executives.
