Mr. Thomas Owusu-Ansah, Brong-Ahafo Deputy Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged the leadership of the Party at all levels to eschew petty squabbles and forge ahead in unity to win more followers.
Mr. Owusu-Ansah stressed the need for the leadership to remain faithful and committed to the party for a resounding victory in the 2012 general elections.
He called on the leaders to give equal recognition to all members at all levels saying that would go a long way for the supporters to maintain trust and confidence for the leadership in particular and the Party in general.
Mr. Owusu-Ansah, who gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkoranza on Friday, deplored the behaviour of some members of the Party who defected to other political parties over the "slightest misunderstanding" and said that practice was not the best of options.
Mr. Owusu-Ansah, former Secretary of the Nkoranza South Constituency of NDC therefore advised members of the Party to see themselves as family members and never be deceived by the opposition because none of such parties could assist them in any way.
"A wolf which covers itself with a sheep's skin cannot stop eating flesh and stick to grass", he cautioned, adding that members of NDC should remain firm and fight hard for victory during all elections.
The deputy regional secretary said the 2012 general elections would not be an event to joke with, hence the leaders should wake up and re-organise members to remain focused for what was ahead.
He advised the youth of the party to eschew negative practices and attitudes that could affect the development and image of the Party, saying those negative tendencies could be exploited by their opponents to sink them.
