The Managing Editor of the Al Hajj news paper Alhaji Bature has taken a swipe at the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ex-president Rawlings blaming him of being the cause of the problems in the party.According him, Mr. Rawlings who must use his position as the founder of the NDC to call party members to order has rather become a spoiler.Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, Alhaji Bature explained that “I think that the key problem is with Rawlings; all this ‘nonsense’ about footsoldiers is because of the [failure] of Rawlings to take up his responsibility as the real founder of the party. He has become a contestant in the game."He added that the ruling party is now leaderless which has contributed to the growing indiscipline among leadership and members of the party. The NDC sympathizer said the ruling party is consciously working for only one term in office by setting aside the promises they made to Ghanaians and rather pursuing greedy and selfish ambitions.Alhaji Bature observed he will not be surprised if Nana Akufo-Addo flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party wins the 2012 elections because he can see NDC losing power. On reports that President Mills did not invite Nana Konadu, First Vice Chairperson of the NDC to his meeting with regional ministers and party executives at Peduasi Lodged last week, Alhaji Bature said “she does not need any invitation to attend any NDC function; President Mills bows to Nana Konadu because he knows what she represents in the party”.He urged President Mills to ensure unity in the NDC despite the opposition he faces from some members of the party."Some of us know the pain he must have been going through even though he comes out publicly to say Mr Rawlings is not a pain in his neck, we know the Genesis of what is going on," he asserted.Story by: Adwoa Gyasiwaa/Myjoyonline/Ghana.
