Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings has admitted publicly that she has intentions of contesting the presidential slot of the NDC.
But she was quick to add that she’s still yet to formally declare her interest.
A group calling itself Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKAR) have been campaigning since last year for the former first lady.
Mrs. Rawlings has consistently failed to either disown the group or endorse its activities.
But addressing the Students Representative Council (SRC) week celebration of the University of Education, Winneba, Kumasi campus, the former First Lady, in an answer to a question as to whether she intends to challenge the president for the governing party’s flag-bearership, said, “The intention is there but I have not declared my intention yet.”
She was quite taciturn on the matter which has long generated heated debates within the NDC.
LUV FM’s Elton John Brobbey who attended the lecture reported that the former First Lady received a rousing welcome on the campus.
