Hajia Alima Mahama, Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs has called on financial institutions to provide industry with support to expand production and create new jobs as well as wealth.
She was speaking at the launch of Beverage Investment Ghana Limited new product, Mirinda Pineapple drink.
She was happy that financial institutions such as Ecobank and The Trust Bank played crucial roles in bringing the Mirinda Pineapple initiative to fruition.
Hajia Mahama congratulated the board, management and staff of Pepsi Cola Ghana on the bold initiative to introduce the product.
She was particularly impressed with the low sugar content of Mirinda Pineapple and noted that the new product was healthy to children and the family at large.
In his welcome address, the Managing Director of Pepsi Cola Ghana, Charles Boakye Nimako, commended the management staff and other personnel of the company for their devotion to duty in making the dream of Mirinda Pineapple’s introduction onto the Ghanaian market a reality.
He explained that Mirinda is "a family product full of thrills and with several flavours like orange, apple, grapes and the newly launched pineapple".
The National Marketing Manager of Pepsi Cola Ghana, William Agyei Amponsah, said "the new mirinda pineapple has a pleasant aroma, is healthy due to its low sugar content and is good for young people".
Others at the mirinda pineapple launch included Nii Kpobi Tetteh Tsuru II, La Mantse; Mr. Lee Ocran, MP for Jomoro and a former MD of Pepsi Cola Ghana, Mr. Fred Asante, board member, Mr. Rajib Glover, head of Sales and Distribution at Pepsi Cola Ghana, and Dr. Annabel Ankrah, medical consultant.
