Two pro-NDC groups are calling on Ghanaians, irrespective of political affiliation, to support newly- elected President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.
Members of Friends of Atta Mills and Professor Mills Movement want the citizenry to rally behind the in-coming administration to enable it deliver on its mandate.
They say failure of the NPP to fulfill its campaign promises for which Ghanaians voted for the party will be a national failure.
At a joint meeting in Kumasi, Friends of Atta Mills and Professor Mills Movement resolved to embark on nationwide education drive to solicit support for Nana Akufo-Addo government.
Gabriel Agah who speaks for the two groups which boast of over 5,000 members nationwide says the performance of the new NPP-administration will not affect only NPP supporters, but entire country.
“We also decided to throw our weight behind the President-elect because we believe that with all his vision s and campaign promises, if he has the support of all Ghanaians and that of even members of NDC, he would be able to achieve all his promises for the betterment of this country. So we believe that we should not sit idle but we should call on all Ghanaians and all the NDC people to support him for his administration. We are all Ghanaians and if there’s anything good that will come from this administration, it will affect all of us.
What we are saying is that, we are calling for support for President-elect.”
Mr. Agah disagrees to suggestions their new posture runs contrary to ideologies of defeated the National Democratic Congress.
He says as a social democratic party, the NDC should endorse the position of the two groups.
