The new Chief Executive for MTN Ghana Michael Ikpoki will this morning assume office at the Ghana unit. The former Sales and Distribution Executive of MTN Nigeria is taking over from Brett Goschen who has been assigned to Nigeria as its Chief Executive. He is expected to spend most of his first days in office engaging regulators of the communication sector and some government officials. With the network claiming a subscriber base of 9 million and 50 percent market share, Mr. Ikpoki will need to come up with strategies to maintain or even improve its numbers as number portability which is expected in the next few months has proven to be a major challenge for leaders in other markets.July 1 2011 is the date set for full implementation of number portability which will enable subscribers to move from one mobile operator to another without the fear of losing their numbers.Source: Joy News/Ghana
