Dr Kobina Amo-Aidoo, a leading member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed concern about widening cracks within the party and urged the leadership to act without delay to fix it.
He said it was important they moved quickly to do the right thing and get President John Evans Attah Mills and ex-President Jerry Rawlings to smooth over their differences to allow peace to prevail.
Dr Amo-Aidoo made the call through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi on Thursday.
This comes on the heels of the alleged pronouncement by the former President and Founder of the NDC that President Mills had lost focus.
Dr Amo-Aidoo said stalwarts of the party like Dr Kwabena Adjei and Captain Kojo Tsikata (Rtd) should do everything to assist the two to overcome whatever disagreements they might have.
He said the NDC would need to send strong signals of unity ahead of the 2012 general polls.Source: GNA
