A photo book of beautiful gardens in Ghana, authored by Ghanaian photographer, author and gardener, Arafua Apaloo-Aning has been launched in Accra.
The book which show cases some of the most serene and breathtaking gardens in the country also includes numerous exotic plants as well as a good collection of indigenous flowers which only grow in our part of the world.
Author of the book, Arafua Apaloo-Aning, a key member of the Ghana Garden and Flower Movement described the book as the fruit of two of her strongest passions -gardening and photography.
“I have the knack of spotting beauty in the ordinary things around us, and what better way to appreciate beauty than through nature. A journey Through Arafua’s Magnificent Gardens is a collection of the beauty that exists in the homes of many Ghanaians, I hope it inspires many more to grow gardens,” she said.
The book which was unveiled at the 4th edition of the Ghana Garden and Flower Show was launched in the presence of the Ghana Garden and Flower Movement, citizens whose gardens were featured in the book, the general public and the media.
Launching the book, CEO of Stratcom Africa and poineere of the Ghana Garden and Flower Movement, Esther Cobbah expressed delight at Mrs. Apaloo Aning’s contribution to the realization of the goals of the Ghana Garden and Flower Movement.
“This book tells the beauty that exists in our environment and can be manifested if only we pay attention. I am glad that the Ghana Garden and Flower Movement has caught on with the general public, together we can realize our dream of a healthier, wealthier more beautiful Ghana.”
Arafua’s Maginificent Gardens is a sequel to Ghana’s Beautiful Gardens, a book co-authored by Arafua Apaloo Aning.
