President John Mahama has acknowledged the crucial role Arts and Sciences play in developing the national and expanding the borders of knowledge.

He recognised this role as a contributory factor in taking the decision to assist the academy with the new headquarters.
According to him, the new edifice will honour the memory of late President John Evans Atta Mills who conceptualised the project before his demise.
The GetFund funded project consists of an auditorium, a secretariat with conference rooms as well as a library.

Speaking at the inauguration, President Mahama added that, “the arts and sciences must work together for social coercion and national transformation.”

“I am happy that members of the Academy have been key providers of expert knowledge and skills in all these endeavors,” he said.
