The aspiring Parliamentary Candidate for Dome-Kwabenya area, Lawyer Michael Nii Nortey Oquaye over the weekend launched his campaign at a special ceremony in his residence.
The launch was attended by a large number of party faithful including the NPP Taifa North Co-ordinator Mr Dickson Yaw Fofie.
In a speech, Lawyer Mike Oquaye said he was contesting to serve the NPP in another capacity and has been with the NPP Party since Danquah-Busia Club was instituted in 1992.
He said "As long God the Almighty gives him strength, he will continue to dedicate his time and energy to the New Patriotic Party”.
He stated that if one of his contestants should win the impending contest he would pledge his support to the victor.
Lawyer Oquaye, however, assured his supporters that he will compete to win only if God grants him the favour and added that he will continue to expand on the good works that has been going on in
the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency.
He said he would create jobs for the youth via vocational training and would enroll interested people for the Oil and Gas Training within his constituency.
He said he would also create a vehicle work and pay scheme for the taxi drivers who do not own taxis.
Lawyer Mike Oquaye indicated that he will establish small businesses/micro finance, revive the Dome-Kwabenya women's Co-operative and would divide the constituency into four zones for small loans assistance.
He said he would also facilitate the extension of water from Kpong to homes in Taifa and other areas, facilitate the health insurance programme for all in the constituency by special credit system, organize extra and remedial classes within his constituency.
He told the gathering that he would institute a planting programme to protect the environment, work in close collaboration with all the authorities and lobby for water, roads, electricity, schools
