Some women parliamentary aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have expressed confidence in their chances of winning the parliamentary primaries on Saturday.
The primaries would be held in all constituencies across the country, except 10 and Bulsa North.
Ms Ursula Owusu, who is contesting at the Ablekuma South constituency, has said in an interview with Peace FM that she would be surprised if she does not emerge winner at the end of the primary.
She said the delegates have assured her of their total support and confidence in her ability to develop the area and to pull more votes for the party’s presidential bid.
Madam Grace Omaboe, popularly known as ‘Maame Dokono’ is also contesting the position in the Birem districts with two other contenders. She said she is sure to win because the delegates see her as the only candidate, among the aspirants, who has the ability to unite the party’s in the constituency, which she claimed had been rocked with disunity in recent times.
Another candidate Adjoa Sarfo, the only woman standing for the Dome Kwabenya seat, said her campaign had so far been smooth. She stated that her exclusive devotion and service to the NPP as well as her ability to pull more votes for the party.
She was hopeful delegates would vote for her to fulfill her promise of transforming the constituency through massive development.
She also appealed to delegates to vote for women aspirants.
Elisabeth Tawiah Sackey, the incumbent MP for Okaikoi North also thanked God for affording her a peaceful campaign and urged delegates to vote for her to continue with the good work she has been doing for the constituency.
She is the only female among four men contesting for the same position.
