The Upper East Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party Agnes Chigabatia has won the party’s parliamentary primary in the Builsa North constituency held on Friday.Joy FM’s Upper East regional correspondent, Joseph Osei reports that a provisional results gave Madam Chigabatia 170 votes to beat two other contestants.Former District Chief Executive for Builsa North, Thomas Alonsi had 116 votes, while a former manager of the Builsa District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme, James Abakisi had 70 votes.The elated Agnes Chigabatia, who is the former Member of Parliament for the area told Joy News Dzifa Bampoh that with the support of her contenders, she would annex the Builsa North parliamentary seat in the 2012 parliamentary election.She said she would sit with the other two to see how best they could strategise for the 2012 general elections.The NPP would hold its nationwide primaries on Saturday in the remaining constituencies, with 10 other constituencies put on hold.The Builsa North primary had to be scheduled for Friday to enable the communities hold the funeral of the late Overlord of the area, Nab Ayetah Azantillow on Saturday.Story by Isaac Essel/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
