The New Patriotic Party has vowed to resolve all internal crises before entering the 2012 general elections. The just ended Parliamentary primaries have triggered a number of internal wrangling with a potential to derailing efforts of the party.Whilst contestant for the Okaikoi South, Vicky Bright is contesting the results of the poll she lost by 12 votes, an injunction has been placed on the Ablekuma North primary following disagreements between contestants. At the Ayawaso East constituency, anonymous men besieged one of the polling centres to demand payment for monies allegedly owed by one of the contestants- Ibrahim Issah.Party leaders had before the organization of the nationwide polls, put on hold elections in 10 constituencies which have ruffled some nerves with threats by constituency executives to organize their own polls if national executives fail to give them cogent reasons why the 10 constituencies were left out. These obviously have created some misgivings within the party.Chairman of the conflict resolution committee of the party, Frema Osei Opare told Joy News her outfit has started investigating all complaints and disputes surrounding the primaries. She conceded unresolved complaints may have been part of the reasons the party ceded power to the ruling NDC and hoped the party will resolve all problems before it goes into the next election.“If I am able to resolve majority of the conflicts within I am sure that it is a done deal for 2012. Because we know from assessment that there are many seats that shouldn’t have gone the other way but for internal conflicts,” she told Joy News’ Goerge Wiafe. He said by the time the NPP launches its campaign, it will be under a united front.Story by Nathan Gadugah/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
