Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings will be picking her nomination forms on Tuesday morning to contest the flag bearer position of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).Mrs Rawlings is expected at the party headquarters by 9am. It is not clear if her husband and founder of the party former President Jerry John Rawlings will accompany her.Aide to the Rawlings family, Kofi Adams told Joy News this will be an epoch-making event as it will mark the first time a woman has decided to run for the high office of president of Ghana.Mrs Rawlings will officially launched her bid challenge President Mills on Wednesday.Various groups including Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKAR) are expected to be at the International Conference Centre to publicly declare their support for her.Kofi Adams says the occasion will be used to deliver various solidarity speeches in support of Mrs Rawlings’ candidature.Meanwhile President Mills is expected to pick up his nominations form on Thursday.Source: Joy News/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
