A 26-year-old driver, Nelson Aboagye of Huniso near Bogoso has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by the Tarkwa circuit court for defiling a 13-year-old girl.
He pleaded guilty.
Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Eward Paddy told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel Obeng Diawuo that the complainant is the elder sister of the victim and the convict was a relative of the complainant's husband so he often visited them.
The prosecutor said the convict visited them one day and since it was late he was asked to sleep in the victim's room.
Inspector Paddy said in the night the victim felt something penetrating her vagina and when she attempted to shout the accused used cloth to cover her mouth.
He said the victim told the convict she would inform her sister but Aboagye gave her GHc2 and pleaded with her not to tell anyone and he left the house.
The Prosecutor said the victim informed her sister about her ordeal and a report was made to the police who arrested the convict.Source: GNA
