A 33-year-old man, Hamidu Salifu has been shot dead following chieftaincy clashes in Oblogo, a suburb of Accra. The chief’s palace was also reduced to ashes with the whereabouts of the chief said to be unknown. The Assemblyman for the area, Edward Cudjoe confirmed the incident to Joy News’ Nana Agyei Essuman. Hamidu Salifu was allegedly gunned down following altercations with persons said to be linked to the chief. In a reprisal attack, the faction opposed to the Oblogo chief invaded the palace and razed it to the ground. The chief and his subjects had reportedly escaped before the attack. Wife of the victim said the last time she spoke to her husband was Wednesday morning but received a call fifteen minutes later only to be told about the death of her husband. She suspects the killing had everything to do with chieftaincy crisis in the vicinity. The victim left behind two children. Story by Nathan Gadugah/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
