Civil Society Group, the Forum for Governance and Justice has given the Association of Magistrates and Judges seven days to hear the cases of four lawyers who asserted corruption in the Judiciary was real than mere perception.
The judges are carrying through their threat not to entertain Dr. Raymond Atuguba, Larry Bimi, David Annan and Abraham Amaliba in their courts until the General Legal Council determines their fate.
But the Forum for Governance and Justice has described the action as unfair and a travesty of justice.
Spokesperson Dr. Clement Apaak said rather than penalize the lawyers, the Judicial Council must take their concern seriously and work towards curbing Judicial corruption.
He told Joy News the four lawyers were not the first to have commented on pervasive corruption in the Judiciary and wondered why they are being penalized.
Dr. Apaak said the forum will petition the Chief Justice and galvanize public support against Judicial corruption.
