The 2010 Ashanti Regional Best Farmer is accusing a timber contractor of destroying his cocoa farm at Attakrom in the Ejisu-Juabeng Municipality.
Isaac Badu wants the Regional Co-coordinating Council to stop David Nyantakyi from operating in the area.
About eight hectares of his farms worth several thousands of Ghana cedis, he said, have been lost to the nefarious operations of the timber firm.
“I have two separate farms: with the help of the regional Minister we have constructed road through the farm for easy accessibility but this contractor used tractors, heavy duty trucks to run into the farm, destroying everything I have laboured for" he explained.
According to Mr. Badu though he reported the matter to the Ejisu police, he was directed to the Forestry Commission for redress.
"I reported him to the Ejisu police but they directed me to the forestry commission. He has destroyed almost everything and I want authorities to stop him from operating here.” he lamented.
But the Timber Contractor, David Nyantakyi has denied the allegations.
Rather, he insists the issue has been exaggerated and dares his accusers to proceed to court.
