The first batch of President Akufo-Addo's deputy ministerial nominees underwent an orientation at the Flagstaff House, Monday.
The attendees largely Members of Parliament (MP) of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and some non-MPs were taken through behaviour and conduct expected of them.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who was in attendance used the opportunity to charge them to discharge their duties selflessly when they are successfully vetted and approved by Parliament.
The President is expected to present the list of is first batch deputy Ministerial nominees to Parliament on Wednesday.
Rumors are rife that the President would be appointing 50 deputy Ministers to add up to the already 36 substantive Ministers, a claim government will not comment on.
Below is the list of MPs and non-MPs who attended the programme and the Ministries they are likely to be sent to.
(a) Obuasi West MP, Kwaku Kwarteng would be heading to the Finance Ministry as a deputy.
(b) Ejisu-Juaben MP, Kwabena Owusu who is on Parliament’s Roads and Highways Committee is likely to serve as a deputy to the Roads and Highways Minister.
(c) Afigya Kwabre South MP, William Aidoo, is likely to serve as a deputy minister.
(d) Ofinso North MP, Augustine Collins Ntim has also been tipped as a deputy minister.
(e) Takoradi MP, Kwabena Darko would be heading to Energy Ministry as one of two deputies.
(f) Atiwa MP, Abena Osei Asare will also serve as a deputy Minister.
(g) Ayawaso Central MP, Henry Quartey would be heading to Interior Minister as a deputy.
(h) Tema East MP, Titus Glover will be serving as one of two deputy Trade Ministers.
(i) Awutu Senya West MP, George Andah will also serve as a deputy Trade Minister.
(j) Subin MP, Eugene Antwi is also on the list.
(k) La Dadekotopon MP, Vincent Sowah Odotei who is a football administrator is heading to the Youth and Sports Ministry as a deputy.
(l) Hemang Lower Denkyira MP, Bright Wereko Brobbey will also head to the Labour Relations Ministry as a deputy.
The non-MPs are;
Executive Director of energy think-tank, Africa Center for Energy Policy (ACEP), Dr Mohammed Amin Adam will serve as a deputy Energy Minister.
Also, private legal practitioner, Godfred Odame is heading to the Justice Ministry as a deputy.
Joy News has also gathered that the President might announce alongside the list of deputy Ministers, other substantive Ministers who will be in charge of key sectors of the economy.a
