Vodafone consumers can now enjoy the convenience of wider WiFi coverage and continuous internet access service in three additional high-speed WiFi hotspots; Villagio, La Beach and Best Western hotels, all in Accra.A statement from Vodafone Ghana said customers at the three hotels could enjoy speeds as high as 54 to 100 Mbps.The statement said Vodafone Ghana would continue to increase the number of WiFi locations to create Ghana’s largest, fastest and most affordable WiFi network.Carmen Bruce-Annan, Head of Corporate Communications at Vodafone Ghana was quoted as saying “Vodafone WiFi hotspots will be strategically located at leading premium hotels, hospitals, restaurants, and generally convenient locations that are the hub of corporate, community and social activities.”“The service will position users to benefit from an unmatched, superior user experience which entails surfing the web at very high speeds, downloading and uploading data, sending instant messages, checking emails and viewing and editing attachments,” she added.The statement said users with 3G enabled smartphones would also be able to send documents to printers from any computer or smartphone, adding that they could also forward notifications from smartphones to pc’s, link smartphones to computers for wide internet coverage, stream movies to any television set, share files with nearby computers, stream audio to any speaker and wirelessly transfer photos from digital cameras.It noted that the tariff plan for the service was a pre-paid voucher system set at GHC 1.80 per hour.“For us, this is an initiative to deliver a superior internet experience to our customers and to widen internet access to Ghanaians in general,” the statement said, adding “Vodafone Ghana will continue to increase WiFi hotspots to extend its broadband facility in the country and deliver affordable and high-speed internet access to its customers and the general public.”Story by Adom News/Ghana
