One person has been confirmed dead in an accident which happened Sunday at Gomoa Okyereko junction on the Accra-Winneba highway.
The accident is said to have been caused by a VW Golf vehicle with registration number GT 1020-C which was heading to Accra.
The Golf driver in the attempt to overtake a vehicle in front of him veered off his lane into the other lane resulting in a collision with a Sprinter bus with registration number GG 2006-16.

The tyre of the sprinter vehicle was removed as a result of the collision.
A middle-aged woman who was in the front seat of the sprinter bus lost her life while the driver and three other passengers suffered varying degrees of injuries.
The police in Winneba were on the scene of the accident and rushed the victims to the Winneba Government Hospital.
