Small scale miners are calling on government to clamp down on foreigners who engage in illegal mining activities.
Ghanaian mining laws prohibit foreigners from engaging in small scale mining.
President of the Association of small scale miners, Collins Osei Kusi told Joy News that they need help to flush out these illegal operators.
"We want to appeal to all stakeholders so that they will assist us to flush out all illegal miners, even some of them do not have [official documents].”
He also accused some chiefs and politicians of supporting the activities of these illegal operators.
