The management of Rlg Communications Limited has denied reports suggesting the company failed to supply over 12,000 laptops although the state fully paid for them.
Media report Monday, June 5, accused the communications firm of flouting its contractual terms with the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation to produce and distribute 103,181 pieces of laptops at a total cost of GHS 51,257,500.00.
According to the publications, the report of the Auditor-General on the public accounts of Ghana on Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for the year ended December 31, 2015, was able to produce and distribute 90,448 pieces of the said laptops, leaving a balance of 12,733 pieces worth GH?6,366,875.00.

Rlg in a statement however, refuted the calims.
“Our attention has been drawn to a news publication on some platforms alleging under the headline “Auditor-General slams RLG for failing to deliver 12,733 paid for laptops” and that the said laptop computers were not supplied in a contract between it and the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation.
“We wish to state that in the process of assembling, supplying and distribution, some laptop computers were detected to have defects and as per the warranty terms and the general terms of the contract, the Auditor-General raised the issue which was adequately responded to and the products replaced,” noted the statement signed by Emmanuel Arthur, Corporate Communications Manager.
According to the release: “For emphasis, the said number of laptop computers have since been replaced.”
