After Lisa was mentioned as the one who had the least votes, and Faya was declared the second runner-up, it was almost certain that Erico was to be the next Mentor.
With the audience on their feet in keen anticipation, the suspense was broken when Erico was announced winner of TV3 Mentor III.
It was a night of fireworks as each contestant put up their best performance in order to garner enough votes to win the ultimate prize.
In the third round, each contestant was asked to perform their favourite song, which they did with style and confidence. All four contestants shook the house with their selection of local songs.
Lisa set the house on fire with Alhaji K. Frimpong’s ‘kyen kyen bi adime wu’.
Isaac of Mentor I fame came on stage with Cee of Mentor II fame along side well-known gospel musician, Ampong and did the chart-busting song Osaberima.
Andy of Mentor I fame came along with his walking stick and ‘blessing things’ to give his fans what they’ve been hankering for.
Joe of Mentor II fame performed a soulful and soothing love song on his acoustic guitar.
Erico, albeit, was evicted and voted back into the Mentor house, grew on his fans with his unique way of presenting himself on stage that was sometimes described as clumsy by critics.
He took home hundred million (100,000,000) cedis cash that 11 other contestants were vying for.
As the saying goes, to whom much is given, much or even more is expected and fans are waiting for Erico to prove that with a hit album.
