President Kufuor's government has seen a marginal increase after the last ministerial reshuffle.
The number of ministers has increased from 80 to 82.
44 people make up the team of ministers while 38 others hold deputy ministerial portfolios.
Many have raised concerns about the size of government, including the Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch, Ben Ephson who says though the additional two people might seem insignificant, it does not take away the point that the state could be spared the extra expense.
Among the changes in Government appointments are the following: Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi leaves the Education Ministry for the Energy Ministry, replacing K.T. Hammond, who heads to the Interior Ministry.
Sophia Horner Sam maintains her post as deputy to the Ports and Harbour Ministry; same as deputy Western Regional Minister Kwesi Blay.
Poku Adusei, deputy Minister for Fisheries has taken over from Daniel Dugan who leaves for the Women and Children Affairs Ministry.
William Boafo is the new deputy for the Defence Ministry, whiles Shirley Ayorkor Botchway and Kwaku Agyeman-Manu move to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and P.S.I, bringing the number of deputy ministers there to three.
Dr. Charles Brempong-Yeboah takes up the only deputy ministerial position at the Foreign Ministry. Mr. Dwuma Odum moves to the Health Ministry and Felix Opare Ansah is deputy Minister for Communications.
In all four new deputy ministers have been added to the administration.
