Hearts of Oak moved level on points with Asante Kotoko at the top of the Glo Premier League on Sunday after beating 10-man Wassaman 1-0.
The win at the Sekondi Stadium preserved the Phobians' unbeaten start with a third minute goal from the spot by Douglas Nkrumah proving crucial as they kept the pressure on their rivals ahead of their meeting on November 20.
Wassaman have slipped into the relegation zone, having lost three matches as they meet Berekum Chelsea next.
