I have always quoted this proverb before I start each show and never before has it become necessary for it to become the main topic.
I'm not sure I have the clout to start this conversation, but I have to play my part as a Ghanaian. History is not just a subject taught in a classroom, to be examined and marked by people who equally don't really care about our history.
History is what determines whether a country is worth dying for or not. Our fathers fought because they knew what they will lose. The consequences of ignoring our history is sending us back into slavery.
As for a divided past, only God Knows what is about to happen to our future.
My name is Nana Ansah Kwao IV, I am the freshest and proudest daddy (I insist) in the world, and I want my daughter to have one factual history, as a Ghanaian.
