New season, new FPL fever. Joy Sports is in the thick of things and here are our top takeaways from the first gameweek.
1. FPL managers need to trust the new signings

Usually, new players take time to settle in the English Premier League. However, new signings this season seem to need no time to settle at all. So far, Lacazette, Morata, Lukaku, Salah, Mounie, Rooney and Hegazy have all scored at least a goal on their debuts. Looks like FPL managers may have to put their faith in some of these new signings because they have hit the ground running.
2. Courtois may not assure so many clean sheets this season

The Chelsea keeper won the golden glove award last season with 16 clean sheets. As a result, he earned a lot of trust amongst FPL managers. Unfortunately, Courtois couldn’t repay FPL managers as he conceded three goals against Burnley.
3. Manchester United will score a lot of goals this season

The Red devils are on top of the Premier League because of their hefty goal difference. Four unanswered goals against West Ham gave us an idea of how ruthless Manchester United will be this season.
4. Huddersfield deserve more attention

The Terriers went into their first game against Crystal Palace as underdogs but were not fazed by the Eagles. Mounie’s brace and an own goal from Joel Ward ensured that Huddersfield got their first ever Premier League win.
5. Wilfred Zaha is out for a month

Ivory Coast international, Wilfred Zaha, is out for a month after sustaining a knee injury in their opening match. The Crystal Palace playmaker came in second on the list of Top Transfers Out on GW1. 231,390 FPL managers have transferred Zaha out of their respective teams this week.
