The International Olympic Committee has accepted the outcome of the Ghana Olympic committee elections which saw Professor Francis Dodoo elected as president.
The elections were without controversy as two feuding factions hurled insults at each other for most part of the election.
Prof Dodoo was later on elected as new president in an election supervised by an IOC representative, Mr Joao Manuel Da Costa Afonso of Sao Tome and Pricipe.
But the election results have been contested with a group questioning the authority of Manuel Da Costa Afonso to supervise the election.
The group has since threatened court action to annul the election.
However, the International Olympic Committee has endorsed the election of Professor Francis Dodoo.
This was contained in a letter jointly signed by Pere Miro, National Olympic Committee Relations Director and General Lassana Palenfo President of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa .
It is not yet clear if the group would continue with its court action.
