The national U-20 side, the Black Satellites were on Wednesday beaten 3-0 by the Italian U-21 side.
The Black Satellites are in Italy for two friendly games with their Italian counterparts and the youth side of Parma.
The preparation of the Black Satellites team started telling in the early minutes of the game as they failed to organize themselves and put passes together.
Not able to withstand the pressure from the Italians, they started making elementary mistakes which the Italians capitalized on.
By the 5th minute of the game, they had conceded two goals already and Italy added to the tally by the end of the first half.
Oti Akenten’s pep talk during recess seems to have done the magic for the side as they played the entire duration of the second half unscathed.
George Afriyie, the Chairman of the Black Satellites Management Committee attributed their loss to the short time for preparations but indicated that, the team had learnt some lessons from the game which will be of immense help in the forward match of the team.
The satellites will be hoping to redeem their image as they take on the youth side of Parma on Saturday, 12th November, 2011 in their second friendly match.
Kick-off is at 14:00hrs GMT.
